The hanging bridge, which is made of iron bars and ropes, linking the Connolly Plot to the mainland provides easy access for tourists to the giant teaks planted in 1846.,the hanging bridge constructed by Steel Industries Kerala Ltd (SILK).The bridge, constructed under the mega eco-tourism project of Nilambur, has rendered Kunhani, the ferryman at the Connolly Ferry, jobless. Employed on contract by the Forest Department for over three decades, Mr. Kunhani was sent home a few days ago.Forest officers said that given a choice between the tears of one person and the well being of a large number of people, they would naturally opt for the latter.
